Fast.co.uk reassures customers about "Phorm"
17 March 2008
Fast.co.uk is part of the Dark Group.
There has been a lot of concern about the "Phorm" service that a number of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are adopting. We can confirm that we are not one of the ISPs who have had any discussion with, or entered into a contract with Phorm, or any similar company, who use browsing history data to provide targeted advertising. We strongly respect the privacy of our customers, and will never share any customer data.
Fast.co.uk launches SMS order status & fault update service
16 December 2007
UK ISP Fast.co.uk, part of the Dark Group, launches free SMS service to update customers on the progress of their order, and open faults, directly to their mobile phone.
The service allows Fast to quickly send customers automatic detailed progress reports with new connections, and to supply updates on connection faults in real time. Text messages are very quick to read, and hassle free for the customer, being much easier to deal with than a phone call or e-mail update.
Customers can even reply to the text message to answer a question, or request a further update with the reply being automatically added to the customers account, to ensure a speedy response back. Our systems monitor the delivery of every message we send to ensure it's correctly delivered to the customers mobile phone.
"We have been running a trial of the SMS service for a month with customers who raise faults, and the response has been very positive, with updates via SMS being preferred. Customers really like being able to respond quickly back, even with a simple "yes" or "thank you" to our updates, which has meant faults can be progressed a lot quicker.
We are committed to finding new ways to improve the level of service we offer, and making communication with our customers easier."

"Your Site Here" launches shorter name
6 July 2006
We are pleased to announce that after extensive negotiations we have acquired the three letter domain name ysh.co.uk, for our managed hosting brand "Your Site Here", which will now be known as YSH.
This new domain name is shorter, and easier to remember so will make access to our website and contact via e-mail easier. Our website is now available at www.ysh.co.uk, and all e-mail addresses can now end @ysh.co.uk.
Our groups' aim is to create dynamic businesses that are built around strong branding, and this new domain name will assist in growing and promoting our YSH brand.
The domain name was acquired from Angus at Giraffe.co.uk, a well respected domain name investor, best known for selling taste.co.uk to Sainsbury's and three.co.uk to Hutchison 3G for a combined total of nearly £250,000.
